Fundraising bicycle ride supports rehabilitation of wounded veterans - LASD Cycling Team (Sat., June 11)
The LASD Cycling Team is hosting a fundraising bicycling event entitled “R2R LASD Cyclefest,” in support of Ride 2 Recovery on Saturday, June 11, 2011, which starts at 8am from Malibu/Lost Hills Station, 27050 Agoura Road, Agoura, 91301

The Cyclefest event is a ride, not a race, with three separate routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Whether participants ride 17, 34, or 62 miles, they will travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer them on!

Ride 2 Recovery raises money to support outdoor cycling programs at military and VA locations around the U.S. to help injured veterans overcome obstacles they face. One of the biggest concerns of our country is treating the mental and physical issues our troops face upon returning home. We owe them a debt of gratitude and that includes providing them with the best possible treatment and care.

The Ride 2 Recovery incorporates cycling as part of that treatment. Cycling has proven to be extremely effective not only in the rehabilitation of physical injuries, but mental injuries as well (such as PSTD or TBI).
