Preparing For Earthquakes: Emergency Crisis Readiness

Preparing For Earthquakes

j0286870

IF INSIDE:

Find a safe spot, under supported archways, against interior walls, under sturdy desks or tables in a kneeling position. If you cannot move, sit down or stay seated where you are until the shaking stops. Shield your Face with one arm and the back of your head with the other.

Stay away from window, bookcases and other heavy objects. Do not leave the building or house until it is safe to do so. Do not use elevators. If lights are out, do not use matches or open flames---gas lines may be effected!!!!!

ALSO FOLLOW THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES OF THE PLACE THAT YOU ARE LOCATED!!!!!

IF OUTSIDE:

Move to a safe spot away from buildings, overhead electrical wires and telephone poles and areas subject to falling glass. Shield your face and protect your head.

IN YOUR CAR:

Stop as quickly and safely as possible. Do not stop under overpasses, bridges, electrical wires or anything that could fall on your car.
