Egypt’s military commander announced Wednesday the suspension of the constitution and the replacement of President Mohamed Morsi with the chief justice of the constitutional court, a move that effectively overthrew the nation’s first democratically elected leader. The commander, Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, also announced the military’s intention to hold new elections, although he did not give a date.
The announcement set off wild celebrations among protesters who had demanded Morsi’s ouster. But it is likely to provoke an angry backlash among Morsi’s Islamist supporters.

What is Explicit Content?

Parental Advisory, abbreviated PAL, is a label affixed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to audio recordings in the United States containing excessive use of profane language and/or sexual references[1](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory).

The logo is not a rating, and there are no agreed-upon standards for the label. It is the record company's decision whether or not an album requires a label. Some albums, however, have been considered so extreme in their violent content that the distributor of the album has put on a secondary warning next to the Parental Advisory sticker, most notably Geto Boys' self-titled album released in 1990 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory).

The warning, which has been called the musical equivalent of an "alcohol content" label, has appeared to make some albums more desirable, resulting in the reverse effect to what was intended. The warning has achieved a degree of cult status, with comedian George Carlin titling an album Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics and numerous t-shirts,[2] metal signs, and other paraphernalia bearing the logo. The RIAA, however, officially states, "It's not a PAL Notice that kids look for, it's the music. Independent research shows kids put limited weight on lyrics in deciding which music they like, caring more about rhythm and melody. The PAL Notice alone isn’t enough incentive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory).

Two senior military officers said for the first time Friday that they were “open” to proposed legislation that would overhaul military law in response to an epidemic of sexual assaults, acknowledging that victims lack faith in commanders to handle the problem....With military leaders acknowledging that they are confronting a “crisis” of sexual assaults in the ranks, pressure is building in Congress to pass major legislation to address the issue.

U.S. employers continued to add jobs in April, at a pace above forecasts but still relatively slow.
The Labor Department reported Friday that 165,000 jobs were added for the month, and that the unemployment rate fell to 7.5% from 7.6%.
The jobs number is an improvement over March, when employers added 138,000 jobs. But it's hardly impressive at this point in the labor market recovery, which began three years ago.

North Korea May Have Nuclear Missile Capability, U.S. Agency Says A new assessment of North Korea’s nuclear capability conducted by the Pentagon’s intelligence arm has concluded for the first time, with “moderate confidence,” that the country has learned how to make a nuclear weapon small enough to be delivered by a ballistic missile.

The assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency, which has been distributed to senior administration officials and members of Congress, cautions that the weapon’s “reliability will be low,” apparently a reference to the North’s difficulty in developing accurate missiles or, perhaps, to the huge technical challenges of designing a warhead that can survive the rigors of flight and detonate on a specific target. It is unclear whether other American intelligence agencies agree with the assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency, which has primary responsibility for monitoring the missile capabilities of adversary nations. In the case of Iraq, a decade ago, the agency was among those that argued most vociferously that Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapon.

Taliban suspends Afghanistan talks with U.S.

 Read:
Los Angeles Times | March 15, 2012 | 6:13 a.m.
The Taliban movement announced today that it was suspending dialogue with the United States, and President Hamid Karzai demanded that NATO troops pull back to major bases and accelerate Afghan responsibility for safeguarding the country.
The Taliban statement, posted on its website and emailed to journalists, represents a major blow to hopes for a negotiated end to the 10-year war.
The group's leadership blamed a U.S. representative for presenting conditions that were "unacceptable." It did not specify what those conditions were.
