Tres Mali: "Do you know that 'pass out' is?"

Vintage Soul: "Don't know. Never heard of it."

Tres Mali: What do you think about being featured in Counseling to dicuss it?"

Vintage Soul: "I have to read up on what it is. I haven't hear of it."

Tres Mali: "How long have you been rapping?"

Vintage Soul: "20 years, maybe longer."

Tres Mali: "You were around when labeling explicit lyrics started, what was your positions on this subject?"

Vintage Soul: "I was already listening, I was not against that. I didn't have a problem with it. Parents should be monitoring. But with the internet, it was different back then.

Tres Mali: "Do you think it made it more difficult for rapping?"

What is Explicit Content?



Parental Advisory, abbreviated PAL, is a label affixed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to audio recordings in the United States containing excessive use of profane language and/or sexual references^{[1](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory).}

The logo is not a rating, and there are no agreed-upon standards for the label. It is the record company's decision whether or not an album requires a label. Some albums, however, have been considered so extreme in their violent content that the distributor of the album has put on a secondary warning next to the Parental Advisory sticker, most notably Geto Boys' self-titled album released in 1990 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory).

The warning, which has been called the musical equivalent of an "alcohol content" label, has appeared to make some albums more desirable, resulting in the reverse effect to what was intended. The warning has achieved a degree of cult status, with comedian George Carlin titling an album Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics and numerous t-shirts,^[2] metal signs, and other paraphernalia bearing the logo. The RIAA, however, officially states, "It's not a PAL Notice that kids look for, it's the music. Independent research shows kids put limited weight on lyrics in deciding which music they like, caring more about rhythm and melody. The PAL Notice alone isn’t enough incentive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory).

Christmas break with INFANTRY, the rapper from Inglewood, Cali: early morning rap writing sessions and rap circles, on the way out the door at a Los Angeles, California restaurant on January 3, 2011 around 7:23 p.m., I caught INFANTRY and asked:

Tres Mali: "Where did you get the name INFANTRY?"

INFANTRY: "The Military."

Tres Mali: "Do you have a speciality?"

INFANTRY: "Shooting."

Tres Mali: "What will you add to rap history?"

INFANTRY: "Bringing people closer to God."

Tres Mali: "What rappers most influenced you?"

INFANTRY: "NAS."

Tres Mali: "What does his lyrics say to you?"

INFANTRY: "How messed up the world is and how stupid people are when it is so easily fixable."

Nate Dogg Died, age 41

Nate Dogg Died At the Age Of 41, according to http://www.nextgenupdate.com/. The rapper "Nate Dogg", aka Nathaniel Hale, has died, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram. The newspaper reports the rap star's family announced his death Tuesday. The cause of death isn't known, but Hale did have strokes in 2007 and 2008. Hale was born in Long Beach and is known for rapping with icons such as Snoop Dogg and Warren G.

The biggest stars of the red carpet on Sunday night were not the stars themselves, but their dates. See: Matthew McConaughey's girlfriend Camila Alves, Mark Wahlberg's wife Rhea Durham, Mark Ruffalo's wife Sunrise Coigney, and the women flanking Giorgos Lanthimos (the director of "Dogtooth"--we had to Google that).

We also applaud the red carpet risk-takers. Helena Bonham Carter can never be accused of being dull, and tonight she did not disappoint. Mainly for the fact that she doesn't seem to give a damn, we have included her in this list. She is truly fearless.

Tonight was also a night of firsts: it marks Celine Dion's debut on any best-dressed list we've ever done.

George Michael, dean of Washington sportscasters, has died after a long battle with cancer, according to a reporter at WRC-TV (Channel 4), his former employer. Michael covered sports at WRC-TV (Channel 4) for 28 years until resigning in 2008 in response to budget cuts.

What is a Digital Signal?????

A digital signal is a binary coded pulse that represents pictures, data, sound, and is a computer or communication system.

An analog signal is a continuously varying system. How does an analog signal become a digital signal?????

• A Digitizer changes analog signals into digital or electronic signals. This was first developed by RAND Corporation in 1964.

To convert speech a microphone is used to break speech into voltages and the digitzer converts voltages into digital code-creating words on a computer screen.

Binary code is mathematical, a series of 0s and 1s and is considered universal.

W.D. Snodgrass, 1926-2009: Pulitzer Winning Poet and International Society of Poets Seminar Host 2008

I was nominated for Poet of the Year 2008 by the International Society of Poets. The Las Vegas Convention was very inspiring. Poets from all over the world attended.

I had the honor of attending W.D. Snodgrass, Pulitzer Prize Winners Poets seminar. He was 83 when he died last week.

His Pulitzer Prize is from his first book "Heart's Needle" in 1960. W.D. Snodgrass also was a professor at several universities, and like myself has two master's degrees.
