Dow Closes Below 12,000 for the First Time Since March
The Dow Jones industrial average closed under the 12,000-point mark on Friday for the first time since March 18. Analysts attributed the decline to a general sense that the global economy was slowing and to fresh reminders that European debt problems were entrenched.
