Weather Alert: Tornado watch issued for Metro region

A tornado watch is in effect for the Metro region until 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Tornadoes, hail up to a half-inch in diameter and gusts up to 70 mph are possible.
The watch area includes the District; much of Northern Virginia, including Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties; and the majority of Maryland, including Montgomery, Prince George’s and Howard counties.
